Trisha Burns - Sales Promotion, Technical Support, and Athletic Advisor
An accomplished Senior Technical Support Professional with 8 years experience in Computer Operations, Trisha has delivered technical support to thousands of users’ worldwide, earning a solid reputation for productivity, problem resolution and professionalism. In addition to her technical expertise, Trisha is a seasoned sales promoter and has lead we sell hoops LLC to a successful start up with her enthusiasm, selfless dedication, and passion for pleasing people. Trisha’s never ending positive attitude is an essential factor to our promotional packages and party planning. As a former Personal Trainer, and seasoned hoop crew member, Trisha brings cheerful encouragement to first time hoopers, and has the proven ability to get anyone to pick up a hoop and get it to whirl on demand!
Lisa Hathaway - Local Social Networking and Social Athletic Advisor
Lisa’s friendly and caring disposition has lead to many local connections and has aided in solving key issues during the process of our start up phase. Her support with local social networking greatly adds to the success of our event planning. As a former star athlete and once recipient of the Harold Foote Sportsmanship Award, Lisa has paved her way to achieving the reputation as a sought after recreational coach for young women’s athletic teams. She has coached baseball, basketball, and volleyball, and has led her players to numerous victories. In addition to her mentoring responsibilities, Lisa has worked with children with special needs in Milford for numerous years, and was once recognized as PTA Parent of the Year. As a hoop crew member, Lisa was an invaluable contributor to the promotion of our programs at the Lauralton Hall, “Christmas in the Mansion” event last year.
Kim Jennings Oliver - Children’s Program Development
As a School Social Worker, Kim brings educated guidance when planning our Children’s Programs and recreational events. Kim’s guidance with the social aspects of our programs is imperative to achieving a successful outcome when bringing people together in a cooperative unit. Our programs boost self esteem in people by creating excitement while participating in group activities. This enthusiasm helps to support the development of physical, mental, and emotional connections, while also focusing on individual achievements. Kim’s extensive experience in group therapy is a key component to our experimentation with ‘The Pursuit of Hoopiness!’ She holds a Master’s Degree in Social Work and has focused on family studies for 20 years.
Sharon Johnson - Advertising, Creative Development, Social Networking, and Music Advisor
With 15 years of experience as a senior advertising professional, Sharon has served as Vice President and Account Director for advertising giants such as JWT, and McCann Erickson. Her advertising and social networking knowledge is a fundamental element to the growth of our hoop culture. Sharon’s marketing awareness is coupled with an inherent creative talent that has guided we sell hoops LLC in branding our Hoop Heroes…we keep it goin’ slogan. She is our conduit to the internet social networking world and our sage to the wonderful world of itunes! Sharon was with us “in the beginning” from the moment she swung her first hoop, and who can forget her dedication to the 3 mile, 98º, 4th of July Block Island Parade hoop march to the theme of “Your Favorite Sport!”
Rich Lindy - Sales Promotion and Benefit Fundraising
The “gift of gab.” Urban dictionary definition: Rich Lindy! Rich’s infectious personality draws people in from the moment you meet him. One of his greatest talents lies in gathering the right people together and keeping them in one happy place. For this reason, he has been our “go to” man when organizing Benefit Fundraising Events. A resident and community guru of New York City for more than 20 years, Rich has a history of charitable contribution. During this time, he hs served on the Board of Directors of Stray from the Heart, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dog rescue organization, for over 10 years. He has found hundreds of homes for abused, stray dogs and he has helped organize such NYC Events, as “Home for the Holidays.” Rich brings professional sales experience to our company with one of his many past accomplishments of holding the national title for the number one sales person at Pitney Bowes for 4 consecutive years.
Ann Oliver - Children’s Program Development and Event Planner
It was Ann’s encouragement that led to the birth of many of our programs, as she witnessed the pure joy demonstrated by her guests hooping at a family party. It wasn’t long before we were discussing all the benefits that hooping could bring to the physical and mental wellbeing of a child. Ann has been a respected teacher in Connecticut for 20 years and holds a Master’s Degree in Early Childhood Development and Education. As a literal “Child Whisperer,” Ann is an integral part to the development of our Children’s Programs. She has helped cultivate fun and creative activities that contribute to our unique approach, focusing on increasing self-esteem in young children. In addition to her educational contributions, as a hoop crew member, Ann has participated in numerous grass roots promotional events for we sell hoops LLC and she often assists in event planning.
Darren Oliver - Creative Development, Web Design, Business Process Analyst, and Music Advisor
Darren brings multiple innovative ideas to the board table. First being his product design development ideas, which inspired such creations as our first beaded hoop, ‘Shake, Rattle, and Roll.’ Darren’s computer technical experience has led him to develop his creative side, which includes the full construction of the structural portions of our website. His relentlessness and endless hours of research and experimentation has proven to be an essential ingredient to the success of our company. In addition to all of his creative input, Darren’s expertise in cost analysis has helped us develop a more marketable price structure, to help make our product more affordable to a broader range of consumers in a tight economy. Darren is a formally trained music composer, and was accepted into the prestigious BMI Lehman Engel Musical Theater, therefore; he is a regular contributor to our playlist music program.
Ernie Oliver Sr. - Transportation Specialist
Who’s idea was this anyway? “You should make these and sell them!” And so it began! Hoops everywhere. The backyard, the guest bedroom, the family room, the garage, the cellar, the Suburban…YIKES! “Well it was your idea, just tryn’ to make it happen!” Ernie’s encouragement and vision of a good thing, has brought many of us together as a family of entrepenurers. The family that hoops together stays together! As you can imagine “hauling hoops” as we have come to realize, is no easy task. Some events require hundreds for inventory and transporting can be challenging. Thanks to his commitment and industrious efforts, Ernie has contributed priceless knowlege from his decades of tranportation experience to help solve the dozens of handing issues that arrise from producing a large scale product. One of Ernie’s past accomplishments included serving as Chairman for the United Way Transportation Commitee.
Mitch Oliver - Athletic Advisor
“Seriously?" GNAC Coach of the year, Mitch Oliver, in his 3rd season as the Men’s Head Basketball Coach at Albertus Magnus College, in New Haven, CT, has just led the Falcons to their first GNAC Championship and Division III NCAA Tournament bid in school history. Prior to his career at Albertus, Mitch had accrued ten years of experience as a Division I Men’s Assistant Basketball Coach where he served seven seasons as the Assistant Coach and Top Recruiter to Quinnipiac University, in Hamden, CT, and three seasons at Sacred Heart University, in Fairfield, CT. He holds a strong reputation for discovering the best talent, and coaching them to championship status. Mitch’s career started at high school level, where he started as an Assistant Basketball Coach at Foran and Bunnell High Schools. In addition to his coaching career, Mitch is known for his popular summer basketball camps, where he has mentored thousands of children of all ages from elementary to high school level, over the course of seventeen years. Mitch’s invaluable teaching techniques have contributed to the unique fitness aspects of our programs.
Penny Oliver - Event Photographer and Event Installation
Say HOOPY! No cheese here. We don’t like cheesy. Penny has always been the face behind the camera, photographing and filming people her entire adult life. From super 8 movies to high tech digital, over the years, her creative eye has captured the imaginative shots of children and adults of all ages, including weddings and on location family portraits. Her focus in children’s photography is proven in her extensive portfolio of staged and candid photo shoots of hundreds of local children. Over and above her contributions to our photo gallery, Penny has assisted in numerous event and hoop art installations. As an experienced artist, her knowledge in event planning comes with years of crafting and display fabrication.
Michael Piazza - Financial Consultant and Music Advisor
Mike was a natural. The first time he picked up one of our hoops, he and his hoop became one…jamming out to Jane’s Addiction and smiling from ear to ear. Hooked on Hoop, that’s all we can say about that! As the CFO of a large commodities company, Mike is well versed in funding opportunities and he has proven to be an invaluable resource as our financial advisor. Mike’s genuine interest and support of the growth of we sell hoops LLC, has been evident since day one. His humorous personality and witty play on words has contributed generously to our ‘think tank’ sessions where he has coined such phases as “Shiny Hoopy People” and “Don’t Worry, Be Hoopy.” As a lover of live music and avid concert goer, Mike’s extensive music knowledge is a never ending pool of information to our playlist library.
